Your wedding flowers are more than just a bouquet — they're a living memory of one of the most important days of your life. At Sparkles Bespoke Resins, we believe those blooms deserve to last forever. Here's an honest, behind-the-scenes look at exactly how we transform your precious flowers into a stunning resin keepsake.
Step 1: Receiving Your Flowers
Once your big day is over, time is of the essence. Fresh flowers begin to deteriorate quickly, so we recommend sending your blooms to us within two to three days of your wedding. Simply place them loosely in a box (no water needed) and post them to us using a tracked next-day delivery service.
When your flowers arrive, we carefully inspect each stem, noting colours, textures, and any special blooms you've highlighted — a favourite rose, a sprig of gypsophila, a meaningful piece of foliage.
Step 2: Drying and Pressing
This is where patience becomes an art form. We use a specialist drying process to remove moisture from your flowers while preserving their natural colour and shape as faithfully as possible. Depending on the variety and density of your blooms, this stage alone can take several weeks.
Some flowers — particularly thick-headed roses or succulents — require extra care and time. Rushing this stage would compromise the final result, which is why our turnaround time is 6–8 months. Great things take time.
Step 3: Arranging Your Blooms
Once dried, your flowers are carefully arranged within a mould. This is one of the most creative and considered parts of the process. We think about balance, colour distribution, and how the piece will look from every angle. If you've requested a specific layout or included a personal note with preferences, we refer back to it at this stage.
For pieces that include ashes or other memorial inclusions, these are handled with the utmost care and respect throughout.
Step 4: Pouring the Resin
We use a premium, crystal-clear resin that is poured in carefully controlled layers. Each layer must cure fully before the next is added — this multi-pour technique is what gives our pieces their exceptional depth and clarity, and prevents air bubbles or warping.
The resin is mixed and poured in a temperature-controlled environment to ensure a flawless finish every time.
Step 5: Curing and Finishing
After the final pour, your piece enters a full curing period. Once set, it is removed from the mould and hand-finished — sanded through progressively finer grits and polished to a high-gloss shine. This finishing stage is what gives Sparkles Bespoke Resins pieces their signature clarity and premium feel.
Step 6: Quality Check and Dispatch
Before your keepsake is packaged, it undergoes a thorough quality inspection. We check for clarity, finish, and that your flowers are beautifully showcased. Your piece is then wrapped carefully and dispatched via tracked courier, with full insurance for peace of mind.
Caring for Your Resin Keepsake
Once your keepsake arrives, a little care goes a long way:
- Keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent any yellowing over time.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth — avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Store away from extreme heat or cold.
With the right care, your resin keepsake will remain as beautiful as the day it was made — for decades to come.
